ABBA is a non-profit society whose purpose is to further the Bed and Breakfast industry in Alberta by promoting high standards, co-operative marketing, government liaison, and other key issues.

Purpose as stated in the bylaws:

  • To establish and encourage high standards of quality and professionalism and to enhance Standards among members as set by the association.

  • To promote and exchange marketing and promotional ideas among members.

  • To promote and encourage co-operation on vacancy referrals among members.

  • To act as a public resource for provincial and local regulatory agencies as they govern the Bed and Breakfast hospitality industry.

  • To obtain reductions in operating expenses, such as group purchasing for members.

  • To cultivate co-operation and communication amongst Bed and Breakfasts in Alberta.

  • To undertake such other functions which advance the interests of the Bed and Breakfast industry in Alberta.

  • To provide for the recreation of the members and to promote and afford opportunity for friendly and social activities.
