ABBA is a non-profit society whose purpose is to further the Bed and Breakfast industry in Alberta by promoting high standards, co-operative marketing, government liaison, and other key issues.

Purpose as stated in the bylaws:

To establish and encourage high standards of quality and professionalism and to enhance Standards among members as set by the association.
To promote and exchange marketing and promotional ideas among members.
To promote and encourage co-operation on vacancy referrals among members.
To act as a public resource for provincial and local regulatory agencies as they govern the Bed and Breakfast hospitality industry.
To obtain reductions in operating expenses, such as group purchasing for members.
To cultivate co-operation and communication amongst Bed and Breakfasts in Alberta.
To undertake such other functions which advance the interests of the Bed and Breakfast industry in Alberta.
To provide for the recreation of the members and to promote and afford opportunity for friendly and social activities.
